How To Stick To A Workout Routine

Workout routines are a hassle. You mean, I have to make sure I stay healthy and active on top of having to take care of my job and family and bills?

Well, yes. It’s essential to take care of your health if you want longevity and a better quality of life overall.

The problem is 99.9% of the population has trouble sticking to a workout on a daily or weekly basis (don’t worry, that percentage was kind of made up). So how do we go about fixing this, so we aren’t just another addition to the 99%?

Well, as with most everything in life, there are a few things you can do to better your chances of sticking to a healthy workout routine that ensures you stay in tip-top shape. Let’s take a closer look:

One of the best ways to make sure you delve into something and stick to it is to make an investment, a monetary investment that is. That way, psychologically, you know you spent something on an activity, and you’re more likely to do it because it cost you something.

For example, if you want to build muscle, you can invest in a couple of dumbbells or even a kettlebell to swing around. If you enjoy doing cardio through dance, Just For Kix has the latest trends in dance pants that can motivate you and help you feel confident while you do your workouts.

It’s all about setting yourself up for success and getting rid of anything that might prevent you from doing that activity on a regular basis.

Sleep Prepared

One of the best ways to ensure you get your workout inconsistently is to go to sleep prepared. This means filling up your water bottle, leaving out your socks and tennis shoes right by the bed, and even posting a picture of where you want to go can help motivate you in the mornings.

Sleeping prepared helps you get rid of any excuse you might make not to do any physical activity. I can definitely say that this helps, write from personal experience. You are more likely to be more consistent with your routines. Start slowly but be consistent, and one of the ways is  – the best adjustable kettlebell activity.

This one is a big one, especially before going to sleep or in the mornings. Visualizing where you want to get and what your goals are can be huge motivators in sticking to a routine that you’ll do religiously. Thinking about the things you do want can help distract your mind from all the excuses you’ll inevitably make that just stand in your way.

Create A Goals Board

This goes hand in hand with visualization. Creating a goals board can further help motivate you to stick to your routine and not falter.

It’s great when you wake up early in the morning, for example, and you can see a real vision of what you’re trying to achieve to motivate you to get up.

Whether that goal is to lose weight, build muscle, be more toned, or directly lead a healthier lifestyle – it all goes on the goals board. You can make this out of printed images or even magazine cutouts. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, it just has to speak to you and the goals you want to reach. If creating a goals board can help me develop better habits, then it is more than worth it.

Find A Pain Partner

Let’s face it; working out isn’t always the most enjoyable thing to do, especially early in the morning. Finding what I like to call a ‘pain partner,’ someone that goes through the ‘pain’ with you can help keep you motivated and accountable. Chances are, if you’re doing an activity with someone constantly, you’re more likely to stick to it because there is someone else involved that has the same goals as you.

It can be a great way to beat procrastination, making excuses, and lack of motivation or even depression (which can often be the reason why we decide not to do the things that are good for us).

It’s Time To Take Initiative and Stick to Workout Routine

They are the most significant factor in whether we succeed in what we set out to do or if we only get stuck and fail to make progress. Now that you know how to keep yourself motivated, how will you start creating good habits that stick?
